Foulard "Memory"

A FOULARD THAT TELLS OF TRADITIONS, POPULAR CUSTOMS, PAST AND PRESENT.

The project is inspired by the Muzzuni festival, which takes place on June 24 in Alcara Li Fusi (ME). It was pagan festival, and propitiatory rite for the fertility of the land, in honor of the goddess Demeter. 

It is a traditional festival that remains alive to this day.

The techniques for making the foulard are needle punching and embroidery with satin or paint stitch.

The fabric of the foulard is a blend of cotton or wool and shape memory polymer, able to mold itself according to the temperature.

Il progetto si ispira alla festa del "Muzzuni", che si svolge il 24 giugno ad Alcara Li Fusi (ME). Era una festa pagana, rito propiziatorio per la fertilità della terra, in onore della dea Demetra.

Festa tradizionale che rimane viva fino ad oggi.

Le tecniche per realizzare il foulard sono l'agugliatura e il ricamo con punto raso o punto pittura.

Il tessuto del foulard è un misto di cotone o lana e polimero a memoria di forma, in grado di modellarsi in base alla temperatura.
